Corset-top with stretch panels
You've probably seen them in the stores: those wonderful corset-tops, with boning in front for support and stretch side-panels at the side for an easy fit. The nice thing about this design is that you can heavily decorate the front panel if you want to, so it will look very sophisticated without being extremely difficult. The top closes in the back with a zipper.
This pattern is not very difficult, but it isn't very easy either. Make sure you understand the directions before you start
The pattern
the pattern consists out of three different pieces: the front (1), side (2) and back (3) pattern piece. The back and side pattern are fairly easy, but you have to take do a bit of measuring for the front panel.
This is a pattern for a size small-medium.
all. measurements are in cm, and the corners are marked in degrees. If a corner hasn't got a marking it means it' a 90 degrees corner. After drawing the frontpatternpiece, round the edges a little ( see the picture on the left). As for the boning: try lying it down, it should have approx. the shape as shown in the picture to the right. Two horizontal and six vertical pieces of boning: the dotted line is the middle front. This means you should mirror it to get the complete patternpiece.
