Gloves

Easy to make, they can spice up your outfit anytime. This is a simplified pattern to make your own.

Needed:
1 m. of stretch fabric like velours de panne, tricot, stretch velvet, etc.
1 m. of small elastic ribbon
matching thread
a sewing machine with a zig-zag or elastic stitch.

A = around your wrist.
B = around your upper arm
C = length from wrist to halfway your upper arm
D = length from wrist to finger

1. Take your measurements. Measure the length of your glove (C)  along the outside of your arm with your arm bowed.
2. Draw yourself a pattern (see picture)
3. Cut pattern out of fabric with two cm extra fabric all around.
4. Fold fabric over with the good side inside on line C-D. Line up the sides and stitch together with a broad zig-zag-stitch. Make a seam of two cm. wide to make sure that they won’t be to big.
5. Turn inside out and try it on. Make adjustments by pinning it tighter if they are to big.
6. Fold upper edge inside and stitch together. Leave a small gap for the elastic.
7. Pull B cm. of elastic ribbon through upper tunnel. Knot or sew ends together at desired length. Close the tunnel.
8. Fold in and make a 2 cm broad seam on the side that should go over your hand.
9. Make a small loop from elastic ribbon wide enough for your finger and sew it to the point of the glove. Done!

use black velvet, net fabric or lace. Please note that you need to use stretchfabric or the gloves won't fit right.
